Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is looking for a Technical Writer for a one year contract position. All candidates must possess Secret Clearance.

The required services will include, but are not limited to the following:
o Planning, researching and writing books, scripts, plays, essays, speeches, manuals, specifications and other non-journalistic articles;
o Analyzing material, such as specifications, notes and drawings, and writing manuals, user guides and other documents to explain clearly and concisely the installation, operation and maintenance of
electronic, mechanical and other equipment;
o Modifying, validating and compiling technical documents such as technical publications in general, specifications, performance test sheets, equipment and system data lists and drawings;
o Assisting and participating in physical and functional configuration audits of systems and equipment;
o Reviewing documents, drawings and associated data for conformance to established standards.

All Technical Writers shall possess, as a minimum:
- A secondary school diploma
- Twenty-four (24) months of demonstrated experience, within the last sixty (60) months, writing and formatting technical documents through the use of computers.

The ideal candidate will have::

have a minimum of three (3) years experience working with Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Force (CF)

knowledge of the CF Transformation which includes: the fundamental restructuring of CF command and control structure; and other relevant functions an organizations to directly support the new operationally-focused structure of Canadian Expeditionary Force Command (CEFCOM)

had exposure to the CF operational planning process

senior staff experience in the areas of Intelligence and Operations
